Procedure course

CLaCS is a modern minimally invasive method that combines laser treatment, sclerotherapy, and cooling of the treated area. Thanks to this combination, the procedure is gentle, well tolerated, and performed on an outpatient basis without the need for general anaesthesia.

Comprehensive: initial vascular examination and treatment plan
Laser therapy: application of laser light directly to the skin surface above varicose veins. The laser beams heat the vein and cause it to shrink and close.
Cryotherapy: cooling of the treated area to reduce pain and improve patient comfort. Cooling also constricts superficial veins, minimizing the risk of bruising.
Sclerotherapy: supplementing a sclerosant to close the vein
Check-up and recommendations: lifestyle measures, doctor's recommendations, and scheduling a follow-up.

Recommendations before and after the procedure

Before the procedure

  • Preparation for the CLaCS procedure is simple and does not require any demanding measures.
  • You will undergo an initial vascular examination during which the doctor comprehensively evaluates the condition of your veins and the suitability of the procedure.
  • It is important to follow the doctor’s instructions carefully so that the procedure is successful and without complications.
  • We recommend avoiding tanning and direct sunlight on the treated area to prevent skin irritation.
  • On the day of the procedure, do not use creams, oils or other products on the treated area.
  • Inform the doctor about all medications you are taking, any allergies or other health issues (e.g. blood clotting disorders).

After the procedure

  • After the procedure, there are usually no specific restrictions – follow the doctor’s recommendation.
  • Avoid hot baths, saunas and whirlpools for several days.
  • If necessary, the doctor will recommend wearing compression stockings.
  • Minor bruising or slight swelling is common. However, if you notice severe pain, a large swollen area, redness or other unusual symptoms, contact your treating doctor.
  • Follow all the doctor’s instructions, including follow-up visits – this will support optimal healing and the final result.
