- Compression therapy is one of the basic treatment options for varicose veins.
The aim of compression therapy is to induce a state where the superficial venous system is closed by pressure, most commonly with a compression stocking, where a state similar to that after varicose vein surgery is induced. In this way, the venous blood pressure in the superficial venous system is reduced, leading to a reduction in swelling. - This therapy is considered to be the basis for the treatment of venous ulcers of the shin that have arisen from chronic venous insufficiency, i.e. varicose veins that have been untreated for a long time.
The main benefits of compression therapy
- Promoting blood circulation: improving blood flow in the veins and returning blood towards the heart.
- Reducing swelling.
- Preventing complications: Helps prevent thrombosis and worsening of symptoms.
- Pain Relief: Reduces pain, feeling of heavy legs and fatigue.
- In our vascular surgery clinic we use MAXIS compression stockings for varicose veins, with which we have only the best experience. Our patients’ testimonials are more than positive. Preferably we use them in patients after sclerotization of varicose veins, but also in patients immediately after varicose vein surgery.
